Landscaping

Full garden transformations, from clearing an overgrown plot to planting, turfing and shaping a garden you actually want to sit in.

Peonies and irises flowering in a densely planted garden border

Soft landscaping is the green side of the work: levelling and preparing ground, laying turf, planting beds and borders, and setting out trees and shrubs so a garden looks established rather than newly finished.

Most projects begin with a site visit. We look at aspect, drainage and soil, talk through how you want to use the space, and set out what is realistic within your budget before any work starts.

Larger schemes are usually staged so the garden stays usable while the work progresses, and so costs can be spread across phases if that suits you better.

What this includes

  • Garden clearance and ground preparation
  • Turfing and seeding
  • Planting schemes for beds and borders
  • Levelling, grading and topsoil
  • Tree and shrub planting

Common questions

How long does a garden transformation take?
It depends entirely on the size of the plot and the amount of hard landscaping involved. We give a realistic timescale in writing with the quote, after seeing the garden.
Do you clear away the waste?
Yes. Green waste and spoil removal is included in the quote unless we agree otherwise, so you are not left with a pile of rubble at the end.

Thinking about landscaping?

Send a few photos and we will tell you what is involved. We cover Essex and London.
