A garden that holds water rots lawns, undermines paving and pushes damp towards the house. Much of the clay soil across Essex and the London basin drains slowly, which makes proper falls and outfalls more important here than in many parts of the country.
We survey the site to work out where water is collecting and where it can safely go, then install the appropriate solution: land drainage, a soakaway, a channel drain, or the correct falls on new hard surfaces.
Where drainage work connects to an existing system we check that the connection is legal and sensible before we make it.

Common questions
- My lawn floods every winter. Can that be fixed?
- Usually, yes. The fix depends on why it floods: compaction, clay subsoil, a high water table or no outfall all need different treatment, which is why we survey before quoting.
- Do I need permission for a soakaway?
- Sometimes. Requirements vary by council and by what the drain serves. We will tell you if your job needs approval rather than quietly installing something that does not comply.
